Re: Parents!

Most of the time. My Dad's great, but my Mum has obsessive/depressive tendencies and can be very difficult to live with.

Re: Parents!

My mum and I clashed really badly when I still lived at home, but since moving out we just get on better and better.

My dad, well it's a strange situation really. When I lived at home we got on absolutely brilliantly, but just before I moved out he had an almost fatal accident and had a stroke as a result of his injuries. That changed him a lot and now 9 years down the line he's more like my old dad again, but the first 5 years afterwards were hellish and I don't know how my mum managed to stay with him without killing him.

So the short answer is yes I get on really well with my parents.

Re: Parents!

I get on with my Mum most of the time, but I've struggled in getting on with my Dad. It's not so bad since I met Shawn, but before that I was fat and never going to meet anyone. My Dad's always had issues with my weight emoticon even though he was 17 stone as a youngster. He's ill as well, has been since I was about 17, and has been retired since about then too. Not easy for someone in his early 50s with a family to feed and look after emoticon

Re: Parents!

I get along with my family. I talk to them on the phone once or twice a week. They live in Iowa. And I see them once a year. But my mom is going to be here to visit for a month. So I'm really happy about that. emoticon

Re: Parents!

I still live at home, and I get along great with my family. It wasn't always like this though. I moved out for six months when I ws 18, and then moved home shortly before we moved from Washington to California. Before that, my mom and I weren't close but my dad and I were. After I moved back home, my mom and I got really close. Now I'm closer to my mom than my dad, but it's all good between all of us. emoticon
