Hmmm... on a scale from 1 to 5 (1 being the most fluent)
1. Slovene
2. English (as you can see)
3. German (I am brushing up on it just now, in fact)
4. Croatian.
5. French - an enthusiastic beginner...Will be asking questions soon :-)

BTW, have you heard of this "About" forum? I have recently joined the http://french.about.com and it is really fun, you can ask all sorts of questions and there are some very patient and skilled people who help you out. There might be forums for other languages as well, I haven't tried yet.

Vic you have no excuse your hubby speaks, french spanish and german all fluently oh and english with an americanish accent!

I am currently re learning french (paid for by work) and have school level german.

Hey guys :-)

How about we start a language thread with a small lesson every second day, say? I would vote for French because I am trying to learn it at the moment but we can also do German, Spanish, anything really. I could help you out in German cos I was studying it for 8 years and should be pretty good in grammar and all that, I just haven't had the chance to practice it after I stopped learning - now is my first chance after a long time emoticon

I'll think of something this evening. I would be happy to start the French one rolling and then the experts in French (Vicki and the rest) can help me out if I get something wrong?

I've got plenty of other interests as well like violin, guitar, music in general, good books... but I am very crap at cooking emoticon

so maybe you could teach me something there emoticon

Oh, and btw, my area of expertise is Computer Science, so if you have any questions or thoughts about that, fire away emoticon

Luckily Languages were my thing in school (when I went!) so I did all three too! I was living in Germany about the same time as him too I think emoticon
