Re: French for beginners

Salut! emoticon je parle francais aussi. Ma mere (can't put accents on) est francaise, et parle en francais avec moi. Alors que je peut tres bien parler, l'ecrite je trouve beaucoup plus difficile.

translated as: I also speak french. My mother is french and speaks to me in french. Although I can speak quite well, written language I find more difficult.

Also find direct translating harder as I have spoken french all my life so 'think' in french and don't translate!

Just shout if you get stuck with anything though, will help if I can (or call my Mum emoticon )

Salut Alex_T! Bienvenue emoticon Je suis une debutante et je veux apprendre.

J'espere que tu peux m'aider de temps en temps emoticon

A plus tard!

P.S.: Please feel free to correct whatever I say if you can see I said it wrong. I have no other way to learn. I would be really happy if you could drop by from time to time and just read through and comment if there was an obvious mistake we were making emoticon Thanks in advance!

Would be better said: J'espere que tu pourrai m'aider....

...tu peux is more, I hope you can whereas ....tu pourrai is I hope you would feel able to...
if you see the difference?! Don't ask me the conjugation or anything cos I don't have a clue but It'll be something you learn a bit later on.

Only other thing I noticed:
vacances (holiday) <----has an s on the end even in the singular.

Would love to help if I can and if you are stuck with anything, feel free to e.mail me or post up here and if I can't help, Mum can emoticon
