This one is for Beth and everybody else who would like to brush up/learn a bit of German emoticon

Starting with the basics...

This is the beginning, anyone wishing more specific advanced lessons let me know and we'll take it from there emoticon

To repeat the previous lesson, do you think you can answer this? emoticon

Wie heißt du?/Wie heißen Sie?
Wie alt bist du?/Wie alt sind Sie?
Woher kommst du?Woher kommen Sie?

Ich wünsche Ihnen einen wunderbaren Tag emoticon

Ups... sorry :worried:

Will get down to basics again emoticon I just found your previous post about travelling to Germany a bit confusing... after all you don't live so far away from Germany, so I didn't think it was an impossible thing to do emoticon

What do you want to learn? Any suggestions? emoticon

Re: German for beginners

Well, we use a translator so I can get any key words I need and Hubby is OK with the basics as he's been going to Germany since he was in his teens, though he can't 'speak' German.

I suppose really I need to learn the tenses etc such as I would like.... and Where is.... etc. If you know what I mean.

I've been to Germany about 3 times but I'm a quick learner. Hubby pretty much knows how to get the pronounciation etc but if you type German here always put the English equivalent next to it so I can read and match up emoticon

Thanks so much!!! emoticon

 emoticon Hi Beth!

Hmmm.... sure emoticon But it will take me a while. I can hardly finish digesting the forum these days let alone adding stuff emoticon

But if you promise to study hard ... there will be a test at the end emoticon

Maybe if youre giving lessons, you could add something else to learn once a week? so youre not worrying about this part of the forum all the time?!

Vicki!

My thought exactly... but it hasn't been a week yet since the last lesson emoticon

I have to organise myself a little bit and decide which day would be best and when I do that I'll let you know, so that you can relax a little emoticon
